Move!

Move!

You could be wasting away and not know. The speed with which the earth revolves, and how time moves, are incredible, yet its smooth blend and continuity make one feel there is no movement at all. The clock revolves every second for 1440 times before you retire to bed, but you may never feel its strain and burden. One thousand, four hundred and forty times, it moves continuously within one day, hoping you will move as well. However, many are domiciled in the relativity of time and its apparent constancy amid such turbulent revolutions. By now, most people have lost their appreciation of the axes of revolution and remain in vection–the visual illusion of self-motion. Still, the rotors of the silent invigilator of life continue to move. Twenty, thirty, forty, fifty…, regardless of what your number is, you cannot afford the visual illusion of self-motion in the absence of physical movement. Move! Move! Move physically, move spiritually, move emotionally, move financially, move academically, move strategically! Whatever you do, do not be fooled by comfort, tricked by complacency, or deceived by the illusion of self-motion. For soon, the invisible rotors of the clock will manifest their investment in you–in your hair color, in your strength, your skin turgor, and even your cognition. Reminding you of how many times it moved just for you. Until then, and even there, move! Move strategically.

Deuteronomy 2:1-3, NIV
For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir. Then the LORD said to me, “you have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.
